Capt Wm Stewart

Dear Sir

Mr Vasques starts from this place tomorrow for the Crow Country and I take advantage of this conveyance to send you as much of your memorandum as we had at this place being a double barrel Shot Gun and ten pounds of shot which I hope will please - At least the Shot Gun is such as I should have selected for you had I been able to make a more extensive search

I was fortunate on my arrival here to meet Mr Sublette who had just got here the day previous. I have been busily employed since then building houses and preparing for a Fort. Mr Sublette started 20th inst for St Louis. I sent your memorandum by him & shall be able in the Spring to learn the probability of getting the Red Marble Slabs -- Mr Liebiri [unless this name is known, I would suggest Lielin or Leelin] I have written to and desired him to use every endeavor [spelled endevour] to obtain them --

[Pg. Break] I hope you will derive pleasure from your Hunt this fall

When it suits your convenience to come here I shall be happy to see you; and can [promise] you at least the luxury of a chair

I have been several times in company with Mr Hamilton and find him very agreeable. Mr. McKenzie was here on my arrival and was handed the letter you sent by me -- he is now gone to the Sioux

Should you require any thing next spring and forward a mem" by Mr Vasques I will [endevour] to send it to you

Very respectfully
Your obt Serv
Robert Campbell
